Just stumbled onto your NCS Guam site. What a great collection!

I was at NCS Guam from 65 through 69, first at Radio Barrigada, then made RMC and got moved over to Finegayan.

Having a great time browsing through the photos to see what/who I recognize.

Who ever you are....thanks a million for those pics of Barrigada NCS. I was
an RM3 living in that barracks next to the Chow Hall from mid 1958 till Nov
59. I know that barracks and chow hall were relatively new when I came there.
But that picture is exactly how it looked when I arrived. The motor pool pic
was also just like it was when I was there, as well as the EM Club, where I
must admit I drank a few beers.
If anyone reads this posting and was there in or around the time I was
I would love to get an email from you.

Cles, Thanks for the note. Yes my middle name is Stone. You have a great memory... I think I remember you as well. It has been so long since I thought of this duty but it is great to see the photos and connect. Do you have any old photos? You can reach me at ericsg_98@excite.com. Eric

Eric, I was there from '68-70. ETN-2-went to ASW School staff in San Diego when I departed. Base CMDR was LCMDR Whaley as I remember. The EMO was a WO? and his name was George Rule. I think I remember you-didn't you have stereo speakers that were suspended from the barracks ceiling? Is your middle name Stone"?

What a trip down memory lane. I was stationed at NRS(T) in '68 and do remember a bit about what things were like. Iwas there for over a 1 1/2 years. I left an ET2 and went to a DDG out of Yokasuka. I would really enjoy connecting with someone that was there at the same time. We were called "The Voice of WestPac" I remember the base comander was a CWO4(I think). Anyone with input would be welcome.

Great photos - I am starting to create a web site on 1950's-60's Navy communication equipment and your photos are really helpful. Could I borrow some to put up on my web site? It is just a hobby project, not commercial.
http://www.virhistory.com/ham/navy-tty.htm
thanks,
Nick KD4CPL
Loved all the photos. Guam is good. Was stationed at Barrigada '64 to '66. Can't remember everything, but do recall having a lot of fun - some I expect todays Navy would certainly frown on .

Your photos brought back old memories. I was PO in charge of transmitter building 2 at Radio Barrigada 1949/1950. Then ET2, made first class before leaving Guam for sea duty.

I love your photos of the NCS base. I lived there as a Navy brat from 1970-74. I lived at the top of the hill in the (then) "new houses". I remember we would ride our bikes to the pool almost everyday. I also remember during summer vacation we would go to the movies almost every night -- free with dependents' ID card!! Guam was a great place to be a kid. Oh yeah -- I went to Maria Ujolla, Harmon Loop, and Finnegayan elementary schools.
