and modified 1 year 2 months ago So I made the decision to go ahead and cut off about 7-8inches of my length! Although I've been natural for over 7 or 8 years, this last year I flat ironed my hair to DEATH! All that heat and stress jacked my hair up! Im cool off of heat now. I think at the most 1-2x a month max!

Once I had the BC I was soooo excited! Im still struggling to figure out curly products and styles all over again, but Im so glad to not be weighed down by the stringy ends. Even tho straight it looked fine, curly was a nightmare! Overall, Im so very happy with my decision, but my friends and family may not be! GET OVER IT! and modified 1 year 2 months ago So it's been 2 years since I started documenting my curly journey. I fell off for a year or so, but now Im back!

In 2007 my hair and I were finally on the same page! LOL! Unfortunately, based on constant negative comments from some dead weight who caused me much stress in 2007, I began flat ironing my hair on the regular. His opinion fed into my old way of thinking regarding my love/hate relationship with my curls. Funny how a persons opinion can truly mess with your head if you let it.

Anyways, all that heat and the stress from that relationship impacted my hair, and now Im in the midst of deciding whether I should just chop the damaged hair off.

Its about 6inches of damage I think. Im a bit excited but also seriously scared! Still battling the negative comments the dead weight slang, but Im really close to making that leap towards healthy curls again!

and modified 3 years 4 months ago These are pics of my hair after a hot oil treatment yesterday (and all night), then I used Ouidad products this morning after a quick rinse and condition.

I used Tracee Ellis Ross' method of brushing out the hair with a Denmark D4 brush in the shower while conditioning. Then I let the water run thru without touching.

I followed up by sectioning off my hair (6 I think) and applied the following Ouidad products on each section:
1. Playcurl Volumizing Mousse, Climate Control (Heat and Humidity Gel), Botanical Boost (spray-in Conditioner).

I think the end result is great, except that my hair by the nape of my neck is still kinda frizzy. I need to find something else to put back there to keep it extra moisturized!

Feeling much better about the curls now! THANKS TO TRACEE AND OUIDAD!
