My friend.. you have knocked me over with that portrait in my GB (and for once it is one I can keep - LOL). It is outstanding not only in photo, but in editing. Nice work!

I see lots of other new images in "Classic Bruton" style that I have not caught up with yet.. I need to stop by tonight from home when I can fully enjoy them too..

btw..I have my entry for the 2nd "BR" but I just keep forgetting to upload when I get home... I am going to leave your image in my GB as a reminder :)

Congrats on the successful completion of the Blue Ribbon contest! I know you worked hard to make it real and I for one appreciate that!

Thaks so much Rich!...u just gave me what i was looking for! really kind!..i checked the colorazing project...it made me discover masking...i already used levels, but this is already a big step!
As u have been so accurate there s something more i want to ask:
I m going to buy a new camera in a few weeks, now i own a eos 300 d...i like it but it's getting older and giving some problems....
My options are (Canon EOS):
50D
40D
5D

I already read many technical sheets ecc...but i didn't get to a decision yet.

I like a lot 40 and 50...a friend recently bought 40, so i'll go with the 50 if it isnt much more expensive.

5D is more expensive...i read that being full frame it's onother level....but i don t know how much this might deserve....

i dont know what camera u do have....still, if u have any sujjestions it would be great.

I m trying to improve with photoshop, but no way i would be able to do something like that...do u know any book,website or whatever it is that might help me?

I wasn't writing my "desire" in the comment I made about your entry for the Blue Ribbon Contest. I was writing what I thought would improve your photo. Your low-light artistic nude of a male figure had plenty of midtones and shadows, but zero hilights. My suggestion was to add some oil or other "wetting agent" to the skin so that you would get specular hilights ("shine") in your image. This would remedy the lack of hilights and, in my humble opinion, would improve your end results.

Thanks for the explanation, and I congratulate you on achieving this entry into a legitimate forum. I have said it before, but I truly do appreciate all the work and effort you placed into getting this contest to be reality! It finally gives those of us who work in this different style a place to exhibit our work and have it judged by others.

Unlike you.. I just gave up on the Fotki contests until the Blue Ribbon came around, especially after having a pair of red panties declared provocative..without the associated woman! So, once again..thank you my friend!
