THe fundraiser kickoff was at the start of the school year. The company we selected for the fundraiser was unable to provide a kickoff event, so our committee co-chairs decided to have the whole school do the chicken dance. Four teachers volunteered to get it all started: Mrs. Stamp, Mr. Thompson, Mrs. Burkhardt, and Mr. Edwards. This kids were so excited and enjoyed jumping up and down and doing the chicken dance together. It was a great kickoff to the year!

5th Grade Snack Sales
The parents of our 5th grade class have a “snack sale" each Friday afternoon at Grace Miller Elementary School in La Verne to help raise money for an end-of-the-school-year party. Tammy Desmond and Julie Harris have been there rain or shine dedicating their time and energy for the kids. This year they have helped raise over $1,800.00 that will go towards an amazing party for 69 of Grace Miller Elementary School 5th graders. Parents donated items each week and with most families strapped for cash, this has brought much delight to our families and will give our kids a day to remember. So on June 5th 2009, our kids will enjoy a day at Jumping Jacks in Rancho Cucamonga, goodie bags, Mc Donald’s restaurant has donated breakfast and when they get back to school the kids will enjoy a movie. Popcorn and snow cones. We give our ultimate thanks to the parents, teachers, staff and principal for supporting US.

This picture was taken at our Mini Mall event in May 2009. The person in front of the game is the PTA President, Carrie Seymour, Our Principal, Mrs. Morley has her head in the lower hole and in upper hole is one of our 5th grade teachers, Mrs. Cialdella. We charged $2.00 per pie for your chance to throw a pie that the principal or teacher. It was so popular that we ran out of pies. We made just under $200 for the evening. We used this money to help pay for different end of the year events.

The Home & School Association at Galveston Catholic School hosts an annual Art Walk, which features the creations of all its students. Proceeds go towards purchasing classroom materials. Here colorful ceramic pet bowls are on sale for $5.

Totes were on display for sale at numerous school athletic and cultural events, as well as in local businesses. So many were sold, that the PTSA was able to present each teacher with a free tote during Teacher Appreciation week.
