One very outstanding librarian volunteered to have her hair cut by students, if the Milliken Park students reached their goals of collecting 14,000 Box Tops, 10,000 Campbell Labels and earned $2,000.00 by collecting Hy-Vee receipts. These fundraising programs earned our school around $4,000.00! Not only did these funds benefit our school by helping the PTA purchase new playground equipment, this wonderful librarian’s hair was then donated to Locks of Love. (Locks of Love is an organization that makes wigs for children and adults with cancer.)

The Center Moriches PTA of Long Island, NY held a Street Painting Festival Fundraiser. Families were able to come together and show off their creative side by creating works of art with pastel chalk and the asphalt. During the day there was a game area, where all games were made with chalk including: hopscotch, tic-tac-toe, checkers and twister, as well as a craft area with free crafts for all. We contacted the local public library who set up a tent and held readings every hour or so. We also sold concessions and asked the local ice-cream man to come by and he donated a portion of his proceeds. Last but not least, we spoke with the local bank that the PTA deals with it, and they were able to donate two savigns bonds which were raffled off for free. Everyone is looking forward to out 2nd Annual Chalktastic Day!

Slack Elementary Principal Robin Stowe and Associate Principal Cathie Greer show thier willingness to go "above and beyond" for thier school by volunteering to allow the top selling students from the Slack PTA Spring Fundraiser to "get them" with a cream pie in front of an assembly of the entire student body and staff (and let us take photos as well!). The Central Elementary PTA is raising money for new playground equipment and we invited families in our community to our school on a Friday night in January to have pizza, popcorn, cupcakes and enjoy watching High School Musical. We raised nearly $1,000 in this FUN-raising event.

November 30, 2007--Approximately 2,000 people packed the Eugene Orloff Auditorium at High School East, to cheer favorite Half Hollow Hills faculty and administrators who were dancing stars in the district’s first ‘Dancing With The Faculty’ event. Gina Bitsimis and Betty De Sabato were the PTA Council Special Event Co-chairs for this event. All proceeds will benefit high school student scholarships.

The winners…Helen and Thomas Magnani from High School East. Helen is a Guidance Counselor and Thomas is a Health Teacher.

This picture was taken on September 28, 2007 at our FIRST Annual Fun Run. The students ran laps to raise money for our PTA. In this picture students were cheering on their classmates as they ran the 'track'. I beleive the picture is a great representation of school spirit, community support, hard work and just good old fun!!! This event was a huge success in raising profits just over $18,000. Monies raised by the Fun Run support the Loon Lake Ele. PTA sponsored programs that range from scholarships, playground equipment, school equipment grants, books for the Media Center, Assemblies, 3rd Grade Read In, VIP Breakfast, School Literacy Library, Ice Cream Social/Membership Drive, Halloween Dance, Holiday Shop, Author Visits and so,so much more. At this event we also promoted Health by having warm up exercises with our PE teacher prior to the run then serving water and apples after the students ran.

Gunstream Elementary PTA has fun raising funds. Elise and Carlos pumped up the kids' assembly with their enthusiasm resulting in our most successful money maker. Many items were purchased such as new PE dance equipment, playground game supplies, a new book cover machine for our library - just to name a few. Families actively sold and purchased yummy food items.

Wild West Day is a collaborative fundraiser produced by the eight elementary schools in the Eagle County School District in CO. It is a western event held at a local ranch in Wolcott, CO and includes events and activities for the whole family. In 2007 it raised over $168,000 for elementary children in the district.

What a sight! PINK EVERYWHERE! PINK FLAMINGOS! A dozen bright pink flamingos have landed on the lawn of this unsuspecting family. Where did they come from? Why are they here? What is the family to do? Evidently "We have been flocked by the Garland Area Early Childhood PTA!" The PINK FLAMINGOS surely attracted the attention of curious school bound kids and motorists in the morning hours as well as awareness and funds for the PTA. The family snapped a photo for a keepsake as the flamingos will not flock there again!

By nightfall hidden by the cover of night, another family will be "flocked", and the result reported to the Fundraising Coordinator. This FLOCKING FLAMINGO FUNdraiser is scheduled to continue flocking until all the participating members of this PTA has been flocked.

The silent auction is held in conjunction with the West Allis-West Milwaukee PTA Council, Founder's Day Carnival. Businesses around WI are generous in donating Hotel/Waterpark Packages, tickets to professional sports venues, tickets to the Milwaukee Symphony, as well as gift cards and certificates to rock climb and go to the races at the Milwaukee Mile. Each school donates 2 gift baskets (1 for the children's silent auction, and 1 for the adult auction). This year our top prize was a family weekend at Blue Harbor Resort/Waterpark, a play station 2 and a $50 gift card for Best Buy, and an ipod. Parent's and children alike, stand and watch the auction board with great anticipation to see if their bid takes the prize.

PTA had gifts baskets up for auction at the annual Holiday Festival at our school, Iroquois Point Elementary in Ewa Beach, HI. Each grade level submitted items based on a theme, i.e. second graders brought in bath items, fourth graders gathered chocolate treats. We ended up with ten baskets in all and raised just over $500! Our group was very excited as this is PTA's first year at the school.

On October 13, 2007 our school, Kanawha City Elementary, hosted the 1st Annual "Fall Festival". This event was held outdoors with many fun games to be played, refreshments, local artisan tables and raffles. We also sold KCE PTA items and had a school based "Class Pumpkin" decorating contest. The moneys that were raised that day were put in a special account for "Technology"....."21st Century Education". Fun was had by all. This was a wonderful school and community based event and we look forward to holding this in years to come.

Our three elementary schools needed a change from catalog sales. We hosted a smartypants spell-a-thon and raised over $33,000! All profit! Our goal is to put a SmartBoard in every elementary classroom. Our "mascot" was designed and built by the 4-6th grade art teacher.
We are ecstatic with the response to a fresh and sweet idea.

JPAT funds or enhances existing funding for many programs. Some examples are: Science Coordinator, Art, PE, Music, and the Library.

Students at West Park Elementary were offered the opportunity to donate money to the National Kidney Foundation during the week of January 7, 2008. Students who donated atleast $1.00 were given a football pin and were able to wear their favorite sports clothing on Friday January 11th. Students were very generous and were extremely excited to be a part of this fundraiser. Our school raised nearly $300.00 in one week!
