If a picture is worth a thousand words, then my son Ethan’s big, happy smile tells one BIG HAPPY story! I owe this moment of happiness to the GAECPTA, Garland Area Early Childhood PTA, Free Fun Day “Summer Luau” held on August 10th and to Amy Graffagnino, a member of the GAECPTA who designed and created this photo opportunity and took my son’s picture at this event. She gave me permission to use it in an article I wrote for the Neighborsgo and for this. The Luau Membership Drive was fun for all who attended. Our Saturday event was designed to get more dad's involved with their kids at school. They had a blast "shaving dad" with popsicle sticks, having juice and donuts and creating a hand print keepsake that had the child's hand print along-side their dad's print.

Each year we have a contest for our class rooms - and this one was one of my favorites
each grade displays a icecream and each class recives a cherry , as the classes bring in memberships they get to move the cherry, the first class to get 100% membership wins a ice cream social, each grade has a winner we run this contest from the start of school until about the 1st week of oct. it really gets the kids excited to bring in the memberships, our schools memberships are up to 84% this year
