Hi my fotki friends, the circumstances of having to take that picture weren't all that great. Lots of people constantly waltzing into the picture and wires and traffic lights everywhere......... Anyways - this is the best I could come up with:

The building is the well-known Red Fox Inn in Middleburg, VA. Parts of Hitchcock's "Marnie" were filmed there and it's been the hang-out of personalities like Jackie O. and Liz Taylor. :-))

Is it better to get detail in everything? Is it better to have buildings straight? Or is it better to give a feeling of atmosphere; such as in a dark bedroom where the only light is through a crack in the curtains and the only detail is where the light falls? I don't know and haven't got a clue, so I redid this yet again using the latest software. Not easy because it is a two frame panorama each of five frame HDR's without any shooting info. I like the darker one and the surprise was the correction in colour which was accidental. But I also thought the camber of the road is wrong and if it rained building 1555 would flood. So I straightened the road out at the expense of the building at the end of it. Should it be a tad lighter? I don't know. Original almost

Is it too dark? What other way to make the car stand out.

It started to rain afterwards; somebody played with the knob while I was taking this. Never had that before.

Some more opinions wanted.

I thought id share this first shot from the new D800 with you for critique\THis was shot at Menindee lakes ,unfortunately the fotki can't show the real detail from the 36mp sensor

Just wonder with the amount of detail now available how this camera would go hooked to a Macro lens

Am tinkering with the Macro again - no, I have not yet acquired a ringlight, which would have made this a far better image I suppose - can't get past the acquisition cost. Luna Moth on the side of our house just before sunset.

These cars were stunning - but their dimensions do not allow one to follow common image size relationships without ending up with gobs of asphalt in the image. Clearly not what I want to see, all I want to see is the CAR! Anyway, here is the best crop I can do.....but how to print it? And bleow this one is the original. Stunning car, polished aluminum with clear coat. Very little paint here. This was at the St. Pete Grand Prix practice 3/23/12....

I was on the 8th floor of the parking garage (roof) with my 100-400L. People kept saying - "Greg - all you're going to get from up here is car dots!" I said, not so fast - remember that thought on Monday - LOL...

I tried everything; content aware brush but in the end just cloned a tree and orange fence out. Is it ok now?

Hey, I'm trying to determine the manufacturer/brand of sail boat this is. My title for the image is, "the Pelican is clearly in the lead". But I can't see any markings anywhere and my wife and I are interested in finding one. Thanks for any help
