Fotki.com is proud to introduce a new tool for uploading your photos from mobile phones!

Fotki Mobile is an application bringing your photo and image collection to Android mobile phones. The collections is accessible while online but also can be stored on the SD card and viewed while disconnected from the Internet.

The application allows you to seamlessly upload new and existing photos to the collection, create and manage albums. You can post photos to the collection directly from the Camera application by choosing Upload to Fotki. In order to use the application, you need to have a Fotki.com account.

Currently Fotki Mobile is available for free on Android platform only (iPhone version is coming soon! Also, please consider Spb Imageer for Windows Mobile phones). To install Fotki.com Android phone application please look for Fotki on Android Market.

We have also added a link for downloading Fotki Mobile Client to Fotki Downloads page.

In partnership with Fotki and Samsung, and supported by National Geographic, the Global Wind Day announced a Wind Energy Photo Contest.

Take out your cameras and start snapping!

The competition is open to all photographers around the world who want to look at wind energy from new perspectives. The challenge is to show the technology as it has never been seen before. New associations with colors and human beings, nature and modernity, landscapes and mechanics, or a mix of those are the trends to be explored with regards to wind energy and photography. A selection of images will be exhibited during the Wind Day, with the photographers receiving Wind Day gifts.

There will be two winners. The first winning photo will be chosen by the voters, the second winning photo will be chosen by a panel of experts from European Wind Energy Association (EWEA), National Geographic and Samsung.
The two winning photos will be awarded a professional camera reflex numeric GX-20 and a NV9 camera, kindly offered by Samsung, and Global Wind Day gadgets.
A short list of at least 25 photos will be prepared by EWEA and awarded the Global Wind Day gadgets: T-shirt, baseball cap, pin-wheels, and pins. The winners will be notified shortly after the shortlist is prepared.
The winners and other shortlisted photos chosen by the contest organiser (EWEA) will be exhibited during the Global Wind Day along with the events organized by the many wind energy stakeholders around the world.

The Global Wind Energy Photo Contest is part of the Global Wind Day, a campaign for the promotion of wind energy worldwide, organized with a joint effort by over 25 wind energy associations around the planet, and coordinated by EWEA. The Global Wind Day is an awareness campaign for the promotion of wind energy worldwide. On 15 June 2009 thousands of public events will be organized simultaneously around the world. This will include wind farms guided tours, conferences, exhibitions in capital cities, workshops, information days, openings of new wind farms, regattas, marathons, theatrical shows and much more. The public will have the chance to learn that wind power works as a solution to climate change, as a solution to energy dependence on fossil fuels, and as an intelligent investment.
