Ah, Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah mountains is great for autumn colors! It is a nice drive with scenic pull-offs but it is crowded that time of year but worth it.

National Cathedral is another place to get great photos.

Don't forget the U.S. Botanical Gardens right next to the Capitol.

You can also visit your Congressman or Senator and get a "ticket" to watch the legislative proceedings in the respective chambers and if they are in session. Kinda cool to see the democratic process in those chambers.

Pick up White House tour tickets SE side of it. Some advance preparation is required but I have heard that daily "will-call" happens.

As far as the DC question is concerned. I didn't have one and no one seemed to mind. I was asked to move if I was blocking a certain view of the monuments for example,,,,Lincoln on his chair in the Lincoln memorial. Other than that no law enforcement said anything. Just make sure that you check with security people around white house or capitol before taking any close shots. They are concerned with people taking photos of the security points.

I like to sew but am not the best seamstress but it involves helping the environment by reusing/recycling clothing and making cute backpacks for our pooches! I've also made a few totes. If you click on that you can "Google Map" it and it will show you the exact location. Try it in the satellite view.... you'll also see the fountain from SPACE POV!

Thanks for stopping by my Hawaii album. I have the same thought about those islands, I WANT TO GO BACK!!!!!! We took an 11 day cruise and I found that even though we touched many areas of Hawaii, it was just too limiting in access and exposure. So we want to go back for a longer time so we can enjoy more of them. I was in between cameras and used my pocket camera for those shots. But I want to go and get more creative since I have the DSLR!

Say, how do you like your EF-S 10-22mm? I am thinking of purchasing one. Also can you tell me a little more about some of the software you are using: Corel Paint Shop, Pro X, Bibble Lite, Alien Skin - Exposure, Snap Art Auto FX - Mystical Tint Tone Color, Mystical Lighting, PGE 6 and Virtual Painter 5
