A couple of pictures from a tour of this historic gold mine

One thing that is impossible to capture in photos is what an explosion underground feels like. Our group was lucky to be in the mine during a blast at the land reclamation project about 2,000 yards away. We were literally shaken!

Pictures from the historic mining district near towns Victor, Cripple Creek, and Goldfield. Pictures of the mines, past and present, and some mountain vistas.

In addition to the pictures, there is a video of a mining truck in action. The subject of the video is not the truck though, but the rocks that it dumps and that roll downhill like an avalanche.
