Jeremians people are intensely spiritual and are known for their legendary passion and humor. So many writers, poets and historians are from that region: Etzer Villaire - Emile Roumer. The author Alexandre Dumas' father, General Thomas-Alexandre Dumas, was born in Jérémie. Every one knows those famous verses: Tu es le bœuf salé, Le dumbreil de mon pois, L' akassan au sirop, Qui coule dans ma garganne... Ca c' est Jeremie - Dame - Marie & Abricots 100%. Some of the pictures are breathtaking for instance "les laveuses à la rivière ". Jérémie is the capital of the department of Grand'Anse with a population of about 34,000 people. It is almost isolated from the rest of the country and accessible mostly by boats. In others words getting there by car is a bit dangerous and one has to be careful. The Grande - Anse River flows near those villages. By the way, does anyone know why " Abricots" was called "Abricots ? See the answer under picture # 33. Good luck.
