Marina, you take such beautiful pictures! Have you ever considered freelance photography or photojournalism? You could travel the world and capture images through your camera with your unique style and creativity. I always look forward to seeing your collections...

I've heard NY compared to many things, but Dostoevsky on LSD ? Now that's a good one. A+ for originality.
Compared with the huge crowds during the first weeks of the Gates,the Park was almost deserted yesterday during the storm. It made for a peaceful and enjoyable walk and I didn't want to pass up on one last chance to see them in a different light.

Thank you for sharing nice pictures.
I loved The Gates and NYC albums most of all.
I think that it is an outstanding art-project and that people will be talking about it for quite a while after they take them down (b*st*rds!!) next Monday.

no lol ..half a year .... well i had another account before on pictrail but never saw that as a hobby or photography ..it was just to show my stuff to others ..i didnt make pics for public ..just my flowers, family,whatever around me for friends and so... it was to show the subject on the pic ..not to make a good pic .... you will learn fast ..even i learned ;) if you have questions ask ..try to get a photo edit program .... like paintshop or photoshop paintshop is easier to handle ..its what i use mostly ..but photoshop has more options. if you have the oportunity to get stuff like this for free or little money try paintshop first to get the hang .. i have paintshop 6 and photoshop 7

your kidding? gods of photography? i started to become a hobby shooter in july last year after seeing the pics of mike ash (look in my links under amiga7 ..thats him) ..was for me exactly what you said .. a life transforming expirience ... i am a beginner and my pics are not overwhelming ..but i have time to learn ;)

hey you have some real great pics here ..i am german, not like american saying to every "turd" greaaaaat lol... i mean it ... some ARE great ....

about my vote ...yea, its a blurry pic, $hit happens ..but you had the guts to go near, to go for action and it would have been good without the blurr ..but blurr is only ONE criterion for pics ..if i have the choice between a sharp and boring pic or a cool but blurry pic i chose the cool one ... a pic that i consider to be one of my best, if not THE best is blurry too ..it wasnt the intention to make it like this ..i tried to make it sharp lol ..but i was lucky and the blurr in the end added motion and MADE it the great pic. http://public.fotki.com/napomo/todays_pics/heeeelp!!!!/mvc843fram_cp.html

u didnt make the best choise for the contest, you have better ones.... but i think you made a good start

Thanks for your reply in my guestbook. I think it is great to participate in a contest...it is not all about winning in life! :) You have some nice pictures, I must admit that I don't think you entered the competition with your best picture though..I gave it a fair 5 as I think your pet deserves that being so curious! :)))
Leave some comments next time you visit, I'd like to know which pictures you like best and which you don't like!

I wanted to comment on your photo in the pet contest (or, rather, on the votes and comments).

Some people just don't "get" it that the moment captured in a photo is more important than the technical excellence, the equipment used, or the number of years you have been in photography school.

You captured one of "those" moments that can't be captured by taking 15 minutes to focus, checking your lighting, or making your cat sit in focus.... And THAT makes it a great photo.
