This is a DSA-built STG-58 Carbine. The rifle was assembled by DSA using surplus parts and some new US made parts (barrel, receiver, furniture). The short length makes this a very handy carbine indeed! Caliber 7.62 NATO.

David Moore at Spider Firearms makes one of the more highly regarded .50 BMG uppers for the AR-15 platform - folks can win 1000 yard FCSA matches with these babies! The single shot bolt action Ferret50 in this album has the 29" stainless steel barrel, Dave's custom-made match hammer and trigger set (lighter and crisper than the Rock River Arms 2-stage NM trigger - if you can believe it!), a Rock River Arms lower, 3lb. weight in the stock cavity, Badger Max-50 rings (high), and a Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x50mm scope. Gotta love an AR-15 on steroids!

These surplus rifles have only recently become available to collectors in the US. The rifles were originally built as M28 rifles and were later specifically upgraded for target/match shooting (some may have been used in a sniper function, too). This is as quality a rifle as you'll find - expertly bedded, finely tuned trigger, adjustable target sights, purpose-designed target/competition stock, and the barrel has been properly floated - yup, you can slide a piece of paper between the barrel and the stock with no trouble. This one's a tack driver, no doubt!

This is a new-production civilian version of the famed M14 service rifle. This particular M1A is one of Springfield's "loaded" versions -- NM stainless barrel, NM front sites, NM trigger job, etc. I replaced the original plastic/fiberglass handguard with a walnut version from Fulton Armory. (Sadly, the rear edge of the handguard cracked while attempting to install the handguard clip. Lesson learned the hard way.) I completely refinished the stock (that original Springfield stain job was pretty poor) and hanguard with several liberal coats of Behr's #600 tung oil finish. This is definitely a great looking rifle! I recently added a Harris bipod, ARMS 18 scope mount, Burris rings, and a BSA 6-24x50mm target scope. The use of this scope won't permit the use of the walnut handguard, so I'm currently using the fiberglass guard from Fulton Armory. This rifle is defintely going to ruin many a gopher's day. :) Caliber 7.62x51 NATO.

This is one of the stamped receiver CETMEs I picked up from SOG a year or so ago. Dirt cheap ($300), beefy, and only needed minimal tweaking out of the box... definitely a great rifle for a great price.
