Thanks so much for pictures of the tri-five gassers. Brings back memories from when I was a much younger gearhead. Would be cool to see some early 60's gassers as well.

Hi Alan,

Mine is a 69 block. Not sure about any differences between it and later blocks. I am using a cast aluminum polished Cloyes timing cover. The PJ gear drive has a pin through the center of the main gear that is designed to be ground down slightly until it just fits behind whatever timing cover you are using. The exact dimensions are not overly critical. You just grind it and trial fit it until it fits comfortably behind your cover and doesn't walk forward and back. It comes with instructions and I did not use an "installation kit". Fairly simple install. Good luck!

This sight is the best I've seen for GASSER pics especially my favorite years, nothin looks nastier than a rigid straight axle in the front of a 55,56,57 chevy. How can I submit a couple of pics of my snubbed nosed HONKER to ya ? Built a few tri fives but never a staight axle rod. Been buildin this double nickel for a few moons ( gotta hotrod shop which means customer cars come 1st) but this homeGroan is almost roadworthy , maybe a week or so. Good GASSER vids source for ya is Jackson videos. Thanks mista for you inspired me to work a few hours after the punch clock to be ready for BEECHBENDS HOTROD REUNION in kentucky this year. I'll be the one rampin up the rpm's & grabbin 2nd before I let'er touch the ground only to bang 3rd & 4th while gnashing my teeth hopin my overpowered lil mouse holds out till the ET & MPH displays at the other end of the too short but fulfilled trip.Thanx Steve
