What a great show! Lee and I owned the Totem Bakery for year's we raised our two daughters on Wrangell. These pictures bring back wonderful memories of life on the Island. It's fun to see all the names on the comments. I still remember lots of the folks.

Kay,

I was privileged to have had Cerina in my class when I taught at the high school. She had a true talent for art. I still think of the kids from '69 and miss them.

I also miss Lee's maple bars.

I'm glad you got to see the photos.

Thanks for all the great memories, I have just moved to Grand Rapids, MI from the Island. I lived there about 54-55 years. My husband was Lee Stella and we owned the Bakery, It was great to see all the pictures of my home.

Yes Babe and other Pelican folks - I am doing digital now and have digitized much of my Alaska stuff. I posted a new album for Pelican people to see themselves in the 60's and have it password protected to keep it for Pelican folks only. I'll provide that password to any Pelican people who'd like it.

How fun to see your pictures on the web. Although I was raised in Pelican and have lived here forever, I was gone for awhile in the mid sixties. I have heard you and your wife's name a lot through the years but I don't think we ever actually met. I will forward your web site/pictures to some friends who I think will know you. My folks were Liz & Joe Paddock and my sister, Vivian Max and brothers Snuffy & Bill. Also will make sure that Norm Carson and his wife see your site as they have been working on historical picture journals of Pelican History. Are you now taking pictures digitally? Happy New Years to you and yours!

It has been a pleasure to find your work online. Your photographs brought back many warm memories of growing up in Wrangell. How well I remember sitting in your 5th and 6th grade class room 35 years ago.

What a great site, !! Brings back memories, I worked both on the
Japanese lumber ships & the Margaret Rose.I saw Eddy Callbreath
last Christmas,,must get Him those pics of his ship.
So glad to hear you are alive and well. I married Donna Loveland, a CNA
at local Hospital, 2 Girls,Luana, 25, & Melissa, 23.
I still recall our conversations at the old Stikine,,can hear you and Don House
right now !!!

Hi Tony,

Betty and I really enjoyed your pictures! We came to Wrangell in 1973. I worked at the Hospital doing Laboratory and X-Ray work. Betty taught first and second grade in the elementary school. When they remodeled it, she moved over to the trailers, by the High School, and then back to the present Elementary School. We hope everything is going well with you.

Thanks for the great flash back of Wrangell! I can smell the summer salt water and pulp from the log ships as I view these photos. The older I get, the more I appreciate the wonderful place that Wrangell is, and the terrific folks that live there. I have been living in Juneau for the past 25 years. Currently working as the Surgical Services Director here at the hospital. You must have done well with all of us "brats", we turned out alright. Thanks!

Tony----Going back for my 40th class reunion this summer and since I live in Anchorage, I get down to visit Wrg reasonably regularly. I wasn't much of a picture taker in the 60's and 70's so your photos recapture a happy time for the town and me.

Mr. Nazar, what a wonderful site you have going on and the pictures of Wrangell are so wonderful, I'm so glad I had the opportunity to grow up there, well at least from junior high on. It was great to see your photos, especially the ones of Wrangell. I moved back to Wrangell in 1988 and married Jeff Angerman a few years later. We now own and operate two downtown businesses. My location is western Washington, I live on the coast with my two sons, and operate a marketing company and own a newspaper. Thank you for posting those fantastic photos! I grew up in Wrangell during the 70's... your pictures brought on a case of homesickness! Just as I remembered it. My friend in Alaska alerted me to your site, and I am so glad she did.
