What is a good digital camera?

I belong to a couple of net user groups. People are always discussing the tehnical merrits of cameras, trying to figure out which is good, better, best.

A few years ago I took a "Quality Assurance" course thru work, when we needed to meet ISO 9000 standards. A big part was understanding the customers requirements.

What are your requirements for a good camera?

I started thinking a bit. My requirements are:
- a camera that is always with me, in a pocket
- uses batteries I can buy anywhere (AA's)
- has the most features I can afford.
I can take 90% of my photos with this camera. If you can only afford one, buy one you will use most often, because it's in your pocket.

My tripod also fits in a pocket. If it's handy, it will get used. What good is it left in the car or the closet?

Finally found the link to "Journals" on the left side of the screen, under Guest Book. I wonder how long it's been there?

My Cameras

Olympus C-5050, 5 megapixel, and Fuji Finepix 602Z, 3 megspixel

I started with a one mega pixel Agfa camera that I now consider a museum piece. It's only fault, even by today's standards, is it's speed. Twelve seconds for the camera to process and save an image, is just too long to wait to take the next picture.
